Lifeboat Week

RNLI Torbay Lifeboat Week 2012

RNLIRiviera ARC are pleased to have the opportunity to support RNLI Torbay again during Lifeboat Week 2012. Lifeboat Week runs from Sunday 15 July to Sunday 22 July 2012. Torbay Lifeboat have a range of events going on in Brixham throughout the eight days including a chance for the public to visit RNLI Torbay’s Severn Class All Weather Lifeboat on Thursday 19th and ‘Lifeboats and Sea King Helicopter Search and Rescue demonstration’ on Friday 20th July.

Riviera ARC will be on air from Brixham on Thursday 19th and Friday 20th July with the club callsign MX0RIV.

GB4TBL Special Event Station

Our GB4TBL event page has been updated and contains more information about our activities for SOS Radio Week and the main event on 28th January 2012 at Beacon Quay. Frequencies and times are now featured in the page.


We have a preliminary QSL card design for SOS Radio Week the GB4TBL QRZ page.

Riviera Amateur Radio Club will be operating a special event station at Beacon Quay, Torquay Harbour, Devon, England, between 21st and 29th January 2012 as part of SOS Radio Week, raising awareness for the RNLI, the RNLI SOS Day and Torbay Lifeboat station’s SOS Day.

We will not be collecting money, though donations can be made to the RNLI via JustGiving at http://www.justgiving.com/RivieraAmateurRadioClub or http://www.justgiving.com/rnli.

Radio hams that contact stations taking part in the SOS Radio Week are able to claim an award. For information about our times and frequencies check our Status Monitor or follow us on Twitter @RivieraARC
