SOS Radio Week 2016

Riviera ARC will be starting their special events for 2016 with SOS Radio Week in January.
The event is based around highlighting the work done by the maritime emergency services and the Lifeboat service.

Watch this space for more news as the event begins.

Talk on Marine VHF

At the last club night, John M6GSW kindly gave a presentation on the Marine VHF bands and how they relate to the work of the Maritime & Coastguard Agency. He also explained how they dovetail with other emergency services such as Search & Rescue and the RNLI.
Thanks John for a totally innovative talk. We hope later in the year to expand on this by asking Ian to talk about the way that the Devon & Cornwall 4×4 Rescue Group work and how they mesh with the Dartmoor Rescue Group and the other blue-light services..

SOS Radio Week 2014

RARC will be running the SOS 2014 Radio Week in aid of the
RNLI onĀ  Saturday 1st Feb.

We aim to be operational on the HF bands and 2metres from 11:00 am. Both Short Wave listeners & licenced hams are welcome to attend.

The club callsign MX0RIV will be in use.

Operating hours are down to weather conditions and manning.
