Just a heads up that Riviera ARC will be running a special event station for Armed Forces Day again this year. This is our way of thanking the men & women past & present for their service in keeping the UK safe.
June 24th is national armed forces day and we will be running again from Little Haldon near Teignmouth. We aim to use GB8AFD and paper qsls will be available.
The festive season draws close now so here is news about our Xmas socials. Our Xmas meal will be on the 1st of December at the Ship Inn, Manor Road, Paignton. All are invited to come whether or not you are a member or not. Everyone pays their own way separately.
Please consider letting the club know if you are coming so that we can advise the pub about how many tables we might need. Likewise if you are mobility challenged or use a wheelchair and need a ground floor place, please let us know early so that we can pass this information to the pub.
There will be NO meeting at the Acorn Centre on this night.
The Xmas raffle will take place at the Acorn Centre on the 15th of December. This will be the last meeting of 2016. Please support the raffle as all money raised goes back into the club funds.
There are lots of lovely prizes including chocolates, biscuits, books, a dvd, a Practical Wireless subscription, smellies and booze !
Tickets are on sale NOW at every meeting up until and including the draw. Festive Greetings to you all.
At the 2016 annual general meeting former Chairman, John Perry M0JNP was awarded an
honorary life membership for his contributions to the Riviera club. John passed his M6 at the
Newton Abbot club and then passed his Intermediate & Advanced licences here at Riviera.
John has always been keen on pitching in at the various special events we run and we look
forward to seeing him at future ones. John runs a local Allstar node from his home in Paignton.
