Riviera ARC Xmas Party
On Monday 10 December, RARC held their first Xmas Party and the club provided a free buffet for members.

MX0RIV at Children’s Party in aid of the Sarah Jayne Fund
On 29 September 2012 Riviera ARC operated the club callsign MX0RIV at Manor Gardens in Exmouth for the Children’s Party in aid of the Sarah Jayne Fund. Operators were John M6GSW, Steph G4XKH and Alan G2DXU.
GB4LBR SES at Lynton & Barnstaple Railway
On 22/23 September 2012 Riviera ARC operated the special event callsign GB4LBR at Lynton & Barnstaple Railway, Woody Bay Station. Operators were Paul M0PBT (NoV holder), Alan G2DXU.
MX0RIV/P on Dartmoor
On 9 September 2012 members of Riviera ARC operated the club callsign MX0RIV on Dartmoor National Park near Lettaford. Operators were Paul M0PBT, Alan G2DXU and Paul M0PCZ.

Riviera ARC with South Devon RAYNET for the Rowcroft Hospice Sleep Walk
On 21 July 2012 some members of Riviera ARC assisted RAYNET with communications during the Rowcroft Hospice Sleep Walk. Operators were Hugh 2E0HOO, Conor M6CON, Steve G7AHP, Tom 2E0MGZ, Mike M0LOB, Paul M0PCZ, Dan M6DXU and Alan G2DXU.
Lifeboat Week at Brixham
On 19/20 July 2012 Riviera ARC operated a portable station at Brixham Breakwater in support of RNLI Torbay Lifeboat Week. Members on station were Paul 2E0PBT, John SWL, Steve G7AHP, Paul M0PCZ, Alan G2DXU, Steph G4XKH and Patty SWL. Also Andy 2E0OJE who joined RARC at the event.
Riviera ARC with South Devon RAYNET for Newton Abbot Carnival
On 14 July 2012 some members of Riviera ARC assisted RAYNET with communications during the Newton Abbot Carnival. Operators were Hugh 2E0HOO, Conor M6CON, Tom 2E0MGZ, Mike M0LOB and Alan G2DXU (not pictured).
Riviera ARC on Dartmoor operating GX3AH
On 22 June 2012 Riviera ARC members set up the shack-a-van near Haytor (WABSX77) and operated the newly registered club callsign GX3AH. Contacts were made with UK, France, Spain, Slovenia, Poland, Russia and Macedonia. Operators were Dan M6DXG, Denis 2E0DBQ, Paul 2E0PBT, Alan G2DXU and Steph G4XKH.
Gallows Gate
Another visit to Gallows Gate. RARC members who met up were Steve G7AHP, Paul 2E0PBT, Denis M6AYK, Steph G4XKH, Alan G2DXU, Dave M6DPG and Mike M0LOB. John SWL visited us and we enjoyed a good evening of radio and chat. Steve G7AHP worked SSTV on 20m while Paul 2E0PBT worked 40m with the dipole. Denis posed on his new scooter and the new club banner was shown for the first time.
Cockington Court
On 26th May 2012 we operated a portable station at Torbay’s historical village with the club callsign MX0RIV. The weather was splendid. RARC members at Cockington were Dave G4OTU, Denis M6AYK, Steph G4XKH, Alan G2DXU, Ted G7UGT and Martin M0IME. Steven M0GMS dropped by to visit the station.
Dartmoor
On 4th May 2012 a few of us went onto Dartmoor National Park to work the club callsign MX0RIV. Working the bands were Paul 2E0PBT, Paul M0PCZ and Alan G2DXU.
Airfields On The Air (AOTA)
In April 2012 we took part in RAFARS Airfields On The Air event by ‘activating’ WW2 airfield Haldon Aerodrome.

Devon and Cornwall Hamfest 2012
On March 25th a few of us went to Callington in Cornwall for the first Devon and Cornwall Hamfest. The usual supsects were Alan G2DXU, Denis M6AYK and Paul 2E0XVI.
RARC RV
In late March we decided to operate a portable station at Gallow’s Gate, Torquay with the club callsign MX0RIV. Present were Paul 2E0PBT, Mike M0LOB, Graeme M0ZOS, Alan G2DXU, Dave M6DPG and Steve G7AHP.
RARC HQ
In March 2012 we bought our first club radio, an Icom IC-735. Among the first to call CQ were Denis M6AYK, Dan M6DXG, Alan G2DXU, Dave G4OTU, Paul 2E0PBT, Paul M0PCZ. Dave made the first contact on the new radio – Steve M1ALY from.. Torquay.
New HQ
In February 2012 we began meeting at the 10th Torbay Sea Scouts hall in Torquay. In March we installed a colinear for 2m band and a home-brew fan dipole for 10m, 20m and 40m.
SOS Radio Week
In January 2012, Riviera ARC took part in SOS Radio Week which raises awareness and funds for the RNLI. We used the special event callsign GB4TBL. RARC members at Beacon Quay during the SOS Radio Week included: Denis M6AYK, Paul 2E0PBT, Mike M0LOB, Conor M6CON, Steve G6UIM, Martin M0IME, Dave G4OTU, Alan G2DXU, Hugh 2E0HOO, Paul M0PCZ, Ted G7UGT. Visitors included Andy 2E0OJE and Adam M6RDP.
